NPIV doesn't work with libraries as this was more designed for disk access. Here's a good article that you might find useful in possible ways you can set this up

Just want to note that I have deployed option two (adding a tape/library as a SCSI device). By doing so, it cut the through-put of the backup job in half and made the solution worthless. Doesn't help much if an 8 hour backup job increases to 16 hours. I did not try the pass-through choice (option one in the posted article), the CPUs in the servers I was given to work with did not support the feature.
