I have a customer that has a network printer/fax I don't have the foggiest on how to connect the ata-2 device that connects to his phone system a nortel 8*24 with a NAM attached he has the software for the 8*24 is ver5. I think the ata gets attached to the 66 block not sure I am one step from just wiring the fax CO directly to the fax machine and leaving the ata adapter in the box.

On the top of the ATA are 2 rj11 ports one shows a phone and the other shows a Norstar port. Plug any vacant port in and you will have Norstar dialtone on the phone port. Call any station on the system (from the ata) and see the station number of the ATA. Go into programing and program that station as you like.

ok I got that straight what about the programing side I have no manuals any suggestions

I am just trying to set up faxing on the particular station I have set the line inthe system to not ring and no other staion can access it but it will not send faxes it tries to dial but a busy signal comes up its set to dial ext numbers only I hooked a analouge phone to the ata and that was the case I just don't know how to set it to dial out

If that dosent work try going into term & sets, access the fax station number, under line access press show, press next, under line pool access press show and make sure line pool access is set to yes. You can then use any pool in the system to call out with, or you can designate the fax line as a different pool group and access that pool only.
Good luck...
