Can someone with this MB explain the memory installation chart to me in single syllable English?

The chart says

DDR DIMM1 DDR DIMM2 DDR DIMM 3

(Rows 0&1) (Rows 2&3) (Rows 4&5)

SS/DS SS/DS SS/DS
SS/DS SS/DS SS/DS

SS=single sided DS= double sided DIMMs

Now I take this to mean I can install single or doubel sided DIMMD in all 3 slots. Am I wrong?

There are times where like you might have 3 slots on a motherboard, but the board can only support "4 sides", so filling each slot with double-sided memory will not work in some cases, because that amounts to "6 sides".

I see, so this chart would imply that I am OK with 3 double sided modules for a total of 6 sides, thanks.

the chart would imply that, correct, but like the other fellow said, you could possibly have a prob with 6 sides all filled up, but, from the info you provided, you should be good to go with all 3 slots and 6 sides, long as its the correct memory that you are installing!

It's mostly dependant on what the chipset can support. It was an MSI KT400 board I had that stated the restriction on number of sides. I don't know if there's a similar restriction with an nForce2 chipset, as I haven't used one yet.

To me, that above chart says you can put a single or double sided DIMM into any of the slots. That held true for my MSI board too, but filling up every slot with double sided memory would not work.

May be different for the nForce2 chipset, but I don't know the details.

WEll I only have two modules anyway, so hopefully that will prevent issues.
