I installed my Asus V7700ti Deluxe in my PC with Asus CUSL-L (Socket370) mainboard and 1 GHz P-III. The WDM Capture driver I downloaded from the nVidia site (v2.20) didn't work (cannot start error 10 in Device Manager), so I re-installed XP Pro, to no avail. Switching drivers to the Asus ones (from the Asus site) didn't work either. I read this thread and found out that I needed to install WDM driver v1.08.
But I was still worried about things written here about the AGP voltage (my mainboard has no jumpers for that purpose), the cables which could not be connected during boot (not handy) and the necessary older video card driver version. Plus, Ik couldn't find WDM driver v1.08 anywhere, until I decided to take a look at ftp.asuscom.de, where I instantly found it, and it worked promptly!
NO problems whatsoever with the video card driver version (I now use the newest nVidia ones, v56.77), and NO problem with the cables, which were connected at the time of installation of WDM driver version 1.08. NO problem with the AGP voltage too. Also NO problem with the automated installation of the WDM driver; just "next, next, finish" and after a reboot & the following automatic hardware detection everything worked correctly!
Summary of successful installation steps for V7700 Deluxe:
- Install fresh WinXP (may not even be necessary)
- Install normal video card drivers of your choice (Asus or nVidia)
- Install WDM Capture Driver v1.08 from ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/TREIBER/VGA/NVIDIA/V9xx0/6X_7X_WDM_1_08.EXE
Good luck!
