Just want to ensure.. We use average cost in inventory. We have the cost fields locked from users.. From what I have seen the only way macola populates this field is through an inventory cost adjustment transaction via inventory transactions. I am speaking of new items only never recvd?? I was hoping the field might populate from the expected cost on a purchase order or from a receiver transaction???

Every time that qty on hand is affected, the average cost is affected, (even if the change is zero). So when you first receive an item in average cost, the expected cost indeed is written to this file.

Run an inventory transaction history report and look at the type "R" and Type "C" records, which should be happening at the same time.
