Good Day,
I am having challenges.
1. in configuring the operator consoles on SV8300
2.Setting Toll Restriction tables
3.Setting Up C.O. lines to ring to the Operator Extension.

I have configured Access codes *0* for Trunk outgoing and *9* for Operator Call

May anyone asssist.
Thanks
Cleophas

What consoles are you using? or are you just using Dterms?

From the codes you are using, I'm betting you aren't in America.

Dear OzzieGeorge,
Thanks for your response.
I am using DT330 24 Key with 60 DSS Console
I am actually in Zimbabwe.

Thanking you in advance for your response

With the talk of an operator extension I will assume you are just using Dterms so it comes down to how have you set up 0 and 9. For 9 the easiest way on a dterm is create 9 as a single digit extension (Cmd 200 set 9 as 801 and in command 11 create a virtual with 9 as it's number then using Cmd 9000 put it on a key on your Dterm/s).

0 you will need to send to LCR and that can be quite involved, there is an FAQ on LCR for the IPS and this is pretty much the same on the 8300. Have a read of that (see the tab at the top of the page) and get back to us.

Incoming calls depend on whether the main number is in your extension range, if it is then it is probably best if you create some virtual extensions (as many as you want the operator to handle, say six, the first one being your main number) in Cmd 11 then put them on keys on your operators Dterm using Cmd 9000 then create a hunt group in Cmd 18 with the first in the group being your main number and that should do it. Now if your main number isn't in your extension range, create everything the same but with six virtual numbers rather than the main plus 5. Then in Cmd 76 you can digit translate the incoming number to the virtual you used as the first in the hunt group.

If you are actually using consoles then we will have to revisit how to do this

Hi OzzieGeorge,
Thanks again for the response.
I am actually using 2xDT330 24 key Multiline Terminals plus 2x60 DSS Consoles

Cleophas

So you can set things up as I said above just put the virtuals on both Dterms.

Whereabouts are you by the way if you don't mind me asking?

Hi OzzieGeorge,
Thanks so much for the support. I have just configured the operator as you said and its now working.
I now need to configure the PRTA card so that I can have the lines to ring to the operator.
I have a combination of 4 C.O lines and ISND 30B+D.
Another Question, How then do I assign the DSS consoles in this scenario?

By the way I am in Harare ,Zimbabwe.

Thanking you again for the support

Hi OzzieGeorge,

Thanks so much.Let me give it a try.
Will come back to you

Good Day OzzieGeorge,
I manged to configure the DSS console and its now working
I have another challenge on the Operators.
The setup I have is a Hotel. If a user calls the operator code, the call flashes on the key,but does not reflect who is calling until you answer the call. This becomes a problem because the operators would want to answer the guest by name.Is there a way to go around this.
If I had configured 9 as trunk access code(TAC)and 0 as operator access code (OAC), would the configuration be different?
Thanking you in advance.

Cleophas

Never tried this one but I believe you can program a caller id display key on the Dterm. In Cmd 9000 program a key to a setting of F5010

However I am not sure this works for internal calls. Have you tried simply pressing the ringing key before picking up the handset. I'm sure if there is programming required others here will chip in.

The way you have assigned 0 and 9 has no bearing on how it functions, you could have used any numbers you wanted.

Hi OzzieGeorge,
Ok thanks ,let me try that setup and will give you feedback.
Thanks again for the continued support.

Good day Ozzie,
I got a document on Tenant LCR and have gone through it
What I now don't understand is that only LCR is being talked about, but the Toll restrictions 4000-4004 are not explained.
What i want to set up is just Toll restriction. I dont know this applies like how its explained in SV8100 where you can set tables 1-4
Thanking you in advance
Regards,
Cleophas

Toll restriction is set up using your LCR tables. 4000-4004 are used if you do not have LCR and want just toll restriction. You use the same tables and theory, so it is double the work to use them with LCR. See a cheat sheet at under the 2000 tab. It's the same for the 8300.

Hie Belevedere,
Thanks for the information
Let me give it a try.

Cleophas
