I have been having problems with my CD-WR. PC doesnt read my drive. So I am guessing that it might be because of ASPI problems. I downloaded the newest ASPI -which is 4.71- and installed it. but still I dont have my cdwr back! any clue is appriciated!

Yazizam:

This might help, Go to Start>Run>Regedit and navigate to this key. HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VXD\IOS and look in the right hand pane. If there are any entries labeled NOIDE delete them and then restart your computer. Post back and let me know if this helps.

BeenThereDoneThat, There is no NOIDE.
by the way, I have to add I can run NERO. also PC reads the CD-ROM but doesnt read the CD-WR. Thanks for any help!

Get winaspi driver from win 98 CD. wnaspi.dll should be inside win98_42.cab. open this file with winzip and extract wnaspi.dll to the windows\system folder. let me know if it works or not cos i had the same problem.
