Has anyone installed the Visual Studio 2005 Beta to create ASP.NET 2.0 websites And kept Visual Studio 2003 to maintain/create ASP.NET 1.1 Websites?

Any problems? Any Concerns? Also can you publish websites that you have created in 2.0 for use prior to release copy?

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Thanks - Jennifer

ASP.NET 2.0 highjacks the Framework version used for your sites which wrecks debugging until you change them back (which isn't hard to do).

Thanks!

do I need the 2.0 framework on the web server to run asp.net 2.0 sites?

does this interfere with other versions of the framework?

You can only use one version of the framework at the same time so if, for example, you built a site in version 2.0, then if you are currently running version 1.1 then yes you will have issues.

I don't remember where I found this on this site but I was recommended to use AppNETVersionSwitcher and that works for me. I switch between the versions on my development machine.

I believe that when we are ready to go live with a 2.0 we will need all of the sites to be ready or have two IIS machines.

Good Luck.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

I remember this being discussed before as well but I'm not sure which thread it was. Anyway, the application can be found at:
