I've looked through old posts and the FAQ.

I want to explore changing/adding the dial by name feature on our main greeting. If I am not mistaken I would need to modify the main attendant, modify each station/subscriber, and ...is there anything else?

While I'm at it:
* If I have subscriber boxes I don't want listed how do I block them from the list?
* Using ASA (I'm still just learning it) can I use the find/replace to do all subs? How do you filter?

This seems to be a pretty big change, have I coverd all the bases?

ST - I don't want to get you going in the wrong direction but... it may not be your main greeting that you wish to change. verify your auto atten subscriber box. On page (3) follow the steps and evaluate where each step takes you. That shoud be enough to get started on... remember to make your notes prior oo making any changes... A well thought out Auto Attenn can take you up and down many vdns and vectors...

good luck!

Here is a thread where we talked about the name directory.

typically in your main greeting you would say "if you want to use the name directory please dial XXXX" and that would take you to the auto-attendant programed for names.

This thread also talks about excluding ppl from the list.

OK I think I am on the right track now. RTMCKEE thanks for the link. I found two seperate threads but neither really answered my question. Don't know how I missed the referenced thread.

I'll check those out.
