ASA into .71 address and at command line type reset system 4 which reboots the gateway. Site should then register back to host?

How do i ASA into an ip-address
to command line to reset

Start Emulation
Command: ping ip-address
PING COMMAND
IP Address to ping:
From Board/Port Location
Source Port ID (IP ENDPOINT)
Packet Length: 64
Repeat Option: 0
???

reset system 4 restarts CM. No gateway is going to restart because of that. In fact, on a modern CM, it'll probably be back in <1minute and the gateway wouldn't even have time to try the 2nd entry in the MGC list and reregister to the CM you just restarted.

What do you mean by "asa into an ip-address"? As in, get a terminal you can type at? Putty is a rather well known and liked terminal client that can SSH into an Avaya media gateway and you can reset/reboot the gateway from that.

But the big question is why do you want to reset a gateway and why are you rebooting CM? What are you trying to fix?

Changes last week in Network definitely affected the voice system as it sits in LSP (local survivable processor) mode today.
Can ping DG xx.xxx.xxx.65 VOIP subnet address but cannot ping any VOIP addresses used to address the Avaya equipment: .71 for the server,.75 for the gateway.

any IP phones there? sometimes people forget that gateways aren't like phones and need to be on a port that is default on the voice vlan. Phone ports are "untagged = data, but tagged = voice". If that config found it's way on to your switch, it could be a cause.

Seen it where people config the switch like "interface 1/1-48, make it a phone port" and then config the gateway port after but forget to "copy run start" and the first power hit knocks the gateway's port
