I am having problems getting connected to my switch using ASA from my home PC, It installed fine and the modem seems to be working.
I am taking several weeks off from work to help my wife and be with our newborn, so I am trying to set up ASA so that I can do everything from the house for the next few weeks but I cant seem to get it to connect, when I start the emulator it starts the connection prompt and just hangs up there, the lights on the modem come on for about 20 seconds then go out. I installed it on a Windows XP machine and have even changed the compatibility mode to Windows 2000, still nothing. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong.

If your login does not have INADS Access (Y),you will not be able to login remotely. Have you ever used remote access before? If you are using auto login you may have somthing set incorrectly, try manual. Worst case, could be an issue with the modem.

What type of system are you trying to log into? Traditional Definity can be accessed via the INADS port if the permissions are enabled. If you're trying to access one of the S8xxx servers it's a completely different process.

I had lot of problems and broken connection using emulator via modem. try with GEDI

I know this may not be an option for you're work environment but I sugguest you forget about using the INADS modem for you're connections and move to a VPN. Then login via ASA, Procom or whatever tool you choose to use.
