We just moved to a new office and now when I leave my ASA connected to the switch for a while, then come back to it, it gives me an error:

Communications error: Connection closed by peer.

I then have to reconnect.

This is very aggravating. It's like a switch setting that times out after a period of inactivity, but this was not happening before the moved. No settings have been changed. The connection to CMS doesn't do this, so I know it's not my network connection.

Two things to keep in mind:
The system resets the terminal peers when it does maintenance at night.
It does this with all terminals not just the IP ones.
If it happens during the day, something interrupts your IP socket session your PC has with the system; probably a dodgy workstation connection, or too much errors on your network segment.

Hope this helps

Rob

If your network connection is stable, then it's probably the connection to the Definity that's faulty. Try a different switch port (the ethernet) for your CLAN connection. If that doesn't help, I'd try replacing the CLAN.
