Hey all,
I'll try and make this to the point. I've got a table of around 7k individual records. What I'm trying to do is get a list of backlog cases ("Y" or "N") by investigator.
So, in spite of the other columns on this sheet, I'm only concerned with "Investigator" and "Backlog?"
I had thought an array formula would work, but I'm getting a constant return of zero, even though I can visibly see otherwise. Here's the array formula I'm using:

=SUM((Sheet1!D2:D7601="inv name")*(Sheet1!J2:J7601="N"))

Yes, I'm applying it with ctrl+shift+enter ... I'm getting the curly brackets as "confirmation," but no results. Any suggestions would be abundantly appreciated.

(Running Office 97 if that makes any difference...)

Sorry guys and gals...just realized the STUPID error I was making....gracias anyway....

Countif doesn't work with multiple criterion...too limited...array works fine...thanks

Sorry, when I first read it, I thought all you wanted was the number of backlogged cases.
