Hi All

When I ring 266, I get "you have reached the voicemail of ..." which is what I want!

But when I ring 9999-0266, the voicemail did not kick in ... but I get "welcome to the voicemail system, press your ext number followed by the hash key"; I do not expect this!

We have ISDN with 100 direct inward dialling numbers from 9999-0200 to 9999-0299. But there are only two DTIB24 boards (ext 200 - 248)

This problem does not happen to other extension (ie 265, 267 etc)

I am stuck in troubleshooting because I do not understand the relationship between ext number and DID number!
How does the system know which ext to ring when I call a DID number?
When a call come in to 9999-0266, how do I tell it to go to ext 266 instead of ext 625 (voicemail)?

Any hints/help would be appreciated

Thanking you in advance

Stan

The DDI table is located in PGM 231.
Here you enter the public number e.g. 887760-432

The last 3 digits are referred to as the "DDI number" in PGM 231.

So the number 432 in PGM231 will indicate the local extension number 432 (or another number) and where the call will be transferred to in day, night and weekend position. (position on the operators console).

Thank you Doktor

Sorry I don't know where to enter the public number.
Further hints/help is greatly appreciated

Have checked PGM 231, can't seem to find the setting for entering public number there ...

PGM 231 settings are the same for ext 266 (doesn't work as expected) and ext 267 (work as expected)

Thanks again for all your help.

Stan

Sorry Doktor

I think I misread your message

Have checked out PGM 231

The day setting: STA 0
Night and weekend: STA 200

Same settings for bin no 266 (not working as expected) and bin no 267 (working as expected)

Have gone thru the admin manual slowly ... still no idea ...

Any thoughts? Thanks

Stan

Year. It is hard work to go through PGM231.
There could also be some issues about rerouting after the call on e.g. bin 345 has been ringing on extension 345 in day position.

The issue was caused by a wrong configuration in the voicemail system (external PC-based system)

Thank you Doktor for letting me understand a bit about DDI and PGM231

Cheers
Stan

The software runs on a winxp machine. It does voicemail processing (integration with MS Exchange) and call accounting

At the back of the computer, I can see 4 telephone cables that plug into a 4-port serial?? card.

I know the 4 port represents 4 analog port 168-171, they are grouped together as ext 625 (PGM 190)

Those extension/handset that need forwarding to voicemail when busy/no answer, I dial 554 4 625#

Dialogic 83-0676-006 4 port PCI Voice Card ... is this what you mean by model/type?

Oh sorry. The name is Corridor. We were introduced to them by the company that supplied us with LG Aria.

Am I allowed to post the URL of the company? I don't want to be red-flagged!!

No, you will not.

I have requested that information from you, so it will be alright to post it here.
We have only sold the VMIB (voice mail board), but were for a while looking for external voice mail systems for the LDK's.
