Help, I am in a local calling area with the area code 312. The problem is people in my office are so used to dialing 10 digits when making a local call that they are dialing 1-312-xxx-xxxx. How can I set up my Definity G3 to waive off the call when the user dials 1-312.

Thanks

Use this command

ch ars ana 1312

then in the route pattern field, enter den.

All calls with that prefix will be waived off (just be sure there are no numbers who are in legitimate need of the prefix).

If you have an anouncement card, you can enter it in the ARS digit conversion table & route them to an announcement telling them no to be so stupid.

OOOOOOOH, you guys are evil!!! Allow me to enter my own humble suggestion for announcement text:

"We're sorry. Your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please contact your telecom administrator and report that you have encountered an ID-10-T error."

Tee hee. Girls can be evil too. Phonia

You could make it idiot proof. Simply route it to an additional route pattern and remove 1 digit.
