Hi,
I am taking over the backup job from other guy here. The way we have setup is we are using the Arcserve2000 and using the Referred Shared/Machines to point to those server\shared. It is now list an alphabetically. So the first server of the list will kick off first. Apprarently it takes the whole night to finish the job. Our user will be back on using the system at 6AM, and at that time the Arcserve will start to connect that server and back up. The question is i would like to set that server needs to run first and is there a way that i can prioritize that server in the "Preferred Shared/Machines". Would you be kind to show me how.
-Much much thanks...

If your job is already created then you can modify it and change the source priority:

1. In the Job Status manager right-click the job and select Modify Job.
2. Click Start. Enter all the security information.
3. On the Job Submit dialog click source priority. Here you change the order in which the nodes are backed up.
4. Click Ok.

You can set the source priority the same way when creating a new job.

Hi,
I have noticed that even though I set the source priority in one specific order the backup will still run the servers in alphabetical order..
I have not been able to solve this issue yet!
Anybody knows how to solve this one.

First of all, thank you for responding. I just have made a changed on the resource priority. The job will kick of tonight. Let's see if that will do it? GSC, it did not do it for you? That's interesting!
