I am using Arcserve v11 with a Compaq SDT-10000, I am trying to backup 29gb of data, but when it get to 20,865.00 it requests another tape, I am using a tape that is DDS4 20-40gb,and compression hardware is on, I dont know why this is happening, its been 3 days going around everything and I still dont know why this is happening, anyone can help?

actually I read that FAQ before posting this topic.

It's over 20Gb - therefore compression is used and working -perhaps not as much as you'd like, but it is working all the same - no tunable settings for compression - it either works or it doesn't

Search for the phrase "Media Compression Ratio" in your BAB Activity Log. For example "1.4" is a compression ratio of typical file system data. If you find "3.29" for example, the backup data had very good compressability (text document, Sql DB, uncompressed pictures etc.)
