Everytime I load astart (version 9) i get an abend after arcserve detects the HW. the process that abends is held by NWPA.NLM.

I tryied other version of the driver of my scsi card, every CA patch are installed, I even tryied to go back to the old NWPA.NLM file. nothing there

help
thanks

My company had the exact same problem with the exact same setup. Our problem turned out to be a nlm conflict. Netware has a generic nlm for tape drives which is called NWTAPE.nlm. Arcserve comes with its own nlm fstape.nlm. They should not be used together. Try removing NWTAPE.NLM and then loading Arcserve.

ok thanks, I check what you said.
the only thing is that I changed the NWTAPE.CDM and not the .NLM

I've put a REM in front of load NWTAPE.CDM in the startup.ncf

Thanks alot

If NWTAPE.CDM exists in the C:\NWSERVER directory on the DOS partition it will be autoloaded when NWPA.NLM loads. You should rename this file or delete it. It also exists in C:\NWSERVER\DRIVERS but thats OK. If you load any *.ham drivers for SCSI or IDE you load NWPA.NLM automatically. Thats ok you need it.
I'm running NW6 sp3/Arcserve 9 and everything is fine with my server, no ABENDS.
