ArcServe 9 with Exabyte Tape Library 1

Hello,
I have inherited company backups ArcServe 9 with Exabyte Tape Library. A few weeks ago the backups stopped working and the software shows the slots in the library as dismounted. I've tried mounting the magazines manually using the ArcServe software, but returns with 'changer not ready'. It appears that ArcServe is not communicating with the tape library. I've ran the device configuration wizard several times and still nothing. If I look in the devices, the library and the two tape drives are listed.
I've installed ArcServe on a different server and still receive the exact same symptoms. There must be something that I am missing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You probably already tried this but if not
power down the server and library
power up the library and wait
after it has finished initializing make sure there is no error on its LCD
the power up the server

Still not working, then verify the library is in working order, self test diags or whatever Exabyte has to offer.

Oh and in the Windows OS Device Manager make sure the library and drives are disabled and the system restarted.
