Don't feel i'm getting good clean backup of Exchange 5.5 server. Am choosing all drives within Arcserve source including folder Microsoft Exchange Server + Microsoft Exchange Server - Brick level. When backup completes logfile has no record of each mailbox being backed up separately. Correct Security has been chosen in order to backup exchange. Any ideas.

If you do a 'full green' backup of the server - brick level is skipped - you'll also get a message in the log along the lines of 'Brick-level backup is unavailable in a full system backup'.

Thanks for your response. Does this mean that I cannot do a full system backup and brick-level backup of exchange 5.5 server in 1 backup job. If this is the case how would I get around it.

Hi,
When you do a FULL green backup of the exchange server, the backup is considered to be a preparatory backup for DR and thus the Brick level is skipped because it would not be of use in a DR scenario.

If you want to workaround this situation, expand brick level, individual mailboxes, deselect a mailbox and select it again... meaning you a are making the job static... half green.....

If you do not want a static job, the only way out is to run 2 different jobs..

hope this helps
