I have noticed on several different machines (all with WinXPP SP2) that apps frequently stop responding if I switch back and forth between them, or open too many docs, or am working online (using IE 6), or have several apps open at a time. Does anyone else notice this problem? Any ideas of what could be causing this?

we could help if we know more of your software/hardware specs.

I have noticed the "stops responding" problem on at least three different machines I use frequently. Two are Compaq Evo D510s with 512 MB Ram, 40 gb HDD, hardwire networked via netgear hub in one case, and a Dlink router for the other, cable access for both, WinXP pro, SP2 for both and both running MS Office software, PaintShop Pro 8, Adobe graphic apps, IE 6, and Frontpage. The Third system is similar only its a dell inspiron 8500 with the same apps. It is on a wireless network. Display adapters differ for each -- all with the factory adapter so none with a lot of power. I got to thinking after I left the post that it might have something to do with the display adapter driver so I upgraded the driver on the Inspiron to see if that will help. So far so good, but I have only used the new driver for half of a day. Any insight you have to add would be appreciated!
