Applying xl updates to master db

We are in a hair on fire situation, where we do not have our database open to the users yet. Currently they update an excel spreadsheet (6 people with copies) during the day and send it in at night.

In a spreadsheet (50 columns by 1500 rows) how can you find the data points that are different and update those record/fields in the database? Old stare and compare is not elegant enough..

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
