My thoughts:

I use Compaq servers (DL380's mostly with either Smart Arry 5i or Smart Array 5300's) and I see these errors on my server too. I remember calling MS a while back and asking about these errors. I believe they told me that the warning are produced from Compaq Agents on the server. Something about how disk reporting was causing this. I was told that these are only warning and because there is a known reason why the errors occur, not to worry about them.

-Hope this helps...

Thanks Joseph. My server is a Dell. The anoying thing about it is it fills the log every day. Would be nice if I could some how stop it.

Wow...I only see this error maybe once or twice a day. Therefore, it doesn't cause much of a problem for me. Do you have Dell support? You may want to call them and find out if this is a problem or not? MS said that the problem was coming from our Compaq Insight Management (CIM). CIM monitors the "health" of the servers. There are agents that run on the servers and if there is a problem, an SNMP trap is sent to a monitoring server. MS said that the problem stemmed from the fact that the monitoring of the hard drives by CIM was causing the event viewer error.

SBS server has helth monitoring installed and enabled during install and is available through the SBS admin console. So that's probably why it always is showing up. I don't have a Dell contract. Maybe there is a way to turn off this one pref mon feature.

Mitchel

Yes, that sounds like what is causing it. Check the installed services. Maybe you can turn off the monitoring temporarily to test your theory.
