How can I discover all applications installed on a Solaris system (2.7, 2.8)?
I mean, is there any feature implemented on such systems working as the Windows registry to check in order to find out which applications are installed ?
Does any system managed file exist to such purpose ?

If applications are installed using pkgadd, then they will be listed with pkginfo, but unfortunatly this will only usually show the solaris packages. Third party packages will not be listed if not installed with pkgadd.

A good system administator will use use change control procedures to record all software installed on their systems, but sadly their is no standard file on the system.
