When you right click on a file and go to properties you get 3 tabs.
On the third tab "Summary", you get the option to add some comments for that file.

Does anyone know how to add a "Comment" like that, to a file I just created in delphi?

Thanks for you time

Hi there!

copy and paste this code in a file named u_fsummary.pas
and use this unit in your program.

the SetFileSummaryInfo function does exactly what you're looking for... [spin]
here ya go :

Code:
unit u_fsummary;

interface

uses Windows, ComObj, ActiveX, Variants, Sysutils;

procedure SetFileSummaryInfo(const FileName : WideString; Author, Title, Subject, Keywords, Comments : WideString);
function GetFileSummaryInfo(const FileName: WideString): String;
function IsNTFS(AFileName : string) : boolean;

implementation

                 //implementation of the IPropertySetStorage interface.
                 //Therefore, these functions return an error if the riid
                 //parameter does not specify the IPropertySetStorage interface,
                 //or if the specified file is not located on an NTFS file system volume.

an even easyer way (if you have the project source code) is to click project then options in delphi
then goto the version info tab and click the "include version information in project" checkbox.

this is in delphi 5 but should be the same in 6, 7 &8 ...

Aaron,

this is not the same, what apostolisadam wants is to be able to set file properties at NTFS level.
