I have tried several times to run various versions of cold fusion server on apache servers. I have tried different versions of apache and cold fusion and nothing works.

Here is my problem Ican access the various files that are .htm or .html or any .cfm files I write but when I try to load any .cfm files that came with cf server I end up getting a "download this file" message which I dont want to do. I cant even get into administrator to make databases.

Please help.

Hey Sliver,

It sounds like Apache doesn't recognize .cfm as an executable and is just passing it back like any other file. I don't work with Apache but it sounds like a webserver config issue. You might try posting to the Apache forum as this is probably a simple fix and I'm guessing is not related to the CF install.

Good luck,
GJ

Are you using ApacheModuleColdFusion.dll? Have you gone through step-by-step instructions like or

Also, the default address for the CF Applications (ie CF Administrator) is 127.0.0.1. If 127.0.0.1 is not set up in apache, then this address will not work. I have mine set up on 10.0.0.2 for example. - tleish
