AOL 9.0 connection error

I have XP Pro running 9.0 AOL. I just installed this, so no chance of a virus or anything. Connected fine after initial install, but went back to get on AOL again today, and it dials, says it's talking to AOL network, then hangs up and gives the error "Unable to connect to AOL service 24-02-15-025" And tries to dial my next number, and repeats this process until I shut AOL down. Any ideas on what to check? I am also running Sygate personal firewall along with the XP firewall, but I even tried turning the sygate one off, with the same results.

Running two firewalls on the same machine is not advisable, try disabling the builtin XP firewall, then run with Sygate properly configured.
