I thought I remembered a NT4 resource kit tool, that allowed you to remotely reboot a server. Any such thing for W2K ? I have a server at a remote location that I need to reboot, and I have pcanywhere installed, but cannot connect for some reason. I can't physically be there though...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could install Terminal Services for admin use and try connecting to the server that way. You could also try setting up VPN and then using shutdown.exe thats comes with resource kit or you can download from MS site, must have admin privs on the server though

MAybe you can use PStools(psshutdown)...check nt/2000 tools under A+, MCP, CCNA

I was just wondering all these tools shutdown or restart the Win2k box but how do they log-in again, can you login remotely.

I know that the pc can still be accessed if you are not logged in.
