I'm about to install Access 2002 on a PC that already has Access 2000 on it. Has anyone else done this and if so, do both versions run correctly?

My OS is Windows XP Professional.

Hi tbrowne

I have been successfully running Access 97, Access 2000 and Access 2002 on the same machine for about 18 months. As long as they are installed in the above order, and in their own folders of course, there shouldn't be any problems.

Be aware, however, that with dual Access systems, double clicking on an Access file in Explorer will open the LAST version of Access that was running. That is, if you last opened a db in Access 2002 format using Access 2002, clicking on any db (including Access 2000 dbs) will open Access 2002. This is probably less of a problem for you since you are not running Access 97.

I run the above on a PIII 667Mhz PC running Windows 98.

I think that there is an article on this in the MS Knowledge Base, but I've never needed to look for it. You might try a search there for more info.
