08:51:19.789 - Socket bind failed port=37 error=2740 (Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted.)
08:51:19.789 - Get socket option [SO_RCVBUF] failed port=37 error=2736 (An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket.)

VM server is doing some wacky things and I never remember seeing this error before.

Is this voicemail lite?

Is it running on a server that people access using RDP

I bet you have 2 (or more) instances of voicemail running.

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

It is VMPro and is accessed through RDP, but I don't believe that there is another instance running.

I think there is a SAMBA server in the network connecting to you VMPro server for file sharing.

Don't access VMpro using RDP. There is a known issue and it corrupts the call flow database (ok - don't use VMpro client using RDP)

mattKnight, I always use RDP but with a -console so;

Start > Run > mstsc -console

Then you will take over the current user just like VNC.
I normaly use VNC but some customer won't allow me to use VNC (or VNC based tools).

Yeah, that works, but with some people, it is easier to say "no RDP" - easy and clear....

Voicemail (lite or Pro) is trying to act as a timeserver for the IPOffice but another process has taken port 37 so it can't act as timeserver.
Probably the manager was started (also timeserver if enabled in preferences) before the voicemail program/service was started.

use netstat -a -b en look for 'time' to see which process uses port 37.

Just a note: "-console" has changed to "/admin" with the most recent version of Remote Desktop Connection.

I find either way still boots the current user off as oppose to controlling it the way VNC does :)

It depends which version of RDC you are using... /console was the original switch to use to contorl the "console session" of a Windows Server operating system. The latest version uses /admin. You can type "mstsc /?" at a CMD prompt to verify this and see which command you should use.

Of course, if you are connecting to a WinXP or Vista OS this switch will have no effect.
