Anyone experiencing problems with....

Clipper apps running on Ethernet? i.e. especially dbappend() My apps run flawlessly across Token Ring (yes, I said TOKEN RING, so don't laugh), yet I'm experiencing problems (the aforementioned) in Ethernet environment (infrequent index corruption). Could the difference in topology have something to do with it?

You'd could tell us the diff in the server environment. Guess the Token ring bits (slow but steady) run on a Novell Netware server, and the Ethernet is on a Windows (NT/2000/2003) server ?
If the last answer is yes, then search for oplock (opportunistic locking) in this forum, it should resolve to the answer you need ;-)
