In Windows? I haven't seen this, doesn't sound stable...
Every program I have ever seen only supports local drives, and will bitch you out if it cannot find a drive.
Considering how fragile burning data from over the network is, I could imagine how many beer coasters you would wind up with if you tried to copy and burn to a remote drive.
I suppose this might work in Linux, I haven't seen/heard this for windows.

NeroNET is the client/server version of Nero. It combines the functionality of Nero with a client/server technology used by many companies to connect their computers to a network. A user can work from any given workstation at which NeroNET is installed, create his own combination, initiate burning and send the corresponding label to the burner server. Initially, the user creates an image of the medium and its label locally at their own workstation.
If the Nero server component transfered the image file from Nero client and ran the application locally under essentially remote control of the client, I do not necessarily see a coaster as the result.
