Hi all,

Is there any way to remove the Find Target button in the properties box of a shortcut?

My concern is for a shortcut which points to the server. If a user clicks Find Target, it's possible for them to end up browsing the network, even though their desktop is locked down and they cannot browse the network any other way.

Of course the best protection is to deny access via permissions(already setup) but I would also like to be able to prevent a curious user network browsing via the find target button.

Thanks,

The Find Target button only browses the resources that have already been setup. Correct, or am I not understanding the question properly?

Well here's the thing:

Say you have a shortcut to a resource on a file server and the shortcut points directly to the file via url path. Say you want access restricted to that folder and not allow the user to wander around the network.

If the user clicks find target, they can browse above the location of the file and browse the entire network.

This will happen even if you have network browsing disabled via group policy.
