I am a new VB6 developer (recently transfered from mainframe area) wanting to learn VB6 functionalities that can be tolerated in a migration exercise to .NET Winforms two years down the road. A large scale commitment to .NET is not on at this moment at my worksite.
I have this Code Advisor downloaded from Microsoft, when run against VB6 applications I have to maintain, gives me a shocking report about a long list of "architectural" and other changes which I find intimidating due to my lack of proficiency in the two VB languages.
Then someone referred me to this Microsoft VB6 migration site at which I have started to examine.
I am however hoping to get indepth discussions on the subject of VB6 migration or Interoping with Winforms, from sites that are not linked to Microsoft. I am hoping I will get information that is useful, and yet does not necessarily reflect Microsoft's position on the subject matter.
