in Sqlserver7.0/2000 where database exits
 
The databases are created as a .MDF file generally in the MSSQL directory under the directory where your SQL server is installed, unless otherwise you provide a diff path when creating a database.

Right click on your database and check the properties. You will find this info under "data file" tab.
