Annoying icon problem

Hi everyone,

I'm using winxp pro fully updated. The other day I noticed that 2 of my icons in My Computer show up as the icon that is used for files that arent specifically used my certain programs. The 2 icons are Control Panel and One of my optical drives.

I tried restoring 4 day's previous, but I don't know when this happened and don't want to restore to far back. I scanned for viruses with updated dat files. Hell, I even tried hitting F5... actually doing this causes the original icon to flash briefly then reverts back. Rebooting and shutting down does nothing.

Has anyone seen this before and do you know how to resolve this? It's not a big deal, but it is annoying.

Well I was able to fix this by using Tweakui's Rebuild Icons feature... would still like to know what caused this in the first place.
