I have an interesting question. How can I force a group of phone to go out over a pre-determined route.
Scenario

I have a site that when they dial out they route over LCR which outpulse the main number. There is a group of about 6 phones that they would like a different number to be outpulsed when they call out to customers. I have created another route but dont know how to steer these phones to use that route.

create a shortcode in each of the users shortcode tab

if they are to send this number at all times it is

code:?
Feature:dial
Telephone Number .SXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

with xxxxxxxxxxxxx being replaced by the number you want to send

should work.....

Thanks. I had a feeling it was that and it did work. No sooner did I make the change for them they decided to change out the phone system. AHHHH

It was not only quick, They did it behind our backs. I got a call late wednesday nite of some mayor alarm on my phone system at that location and come to find out they unplugged it and put in an Antigen VOIP system. All i know is im ouuta of it now. They will have to explain this to the bigwigs

Yes but from the customers point of view they asked for a basic change and the Engineer did not know how to do it, If he was IP Office trained he could have done it straight away, they probably had alarm bells ringing and acted on that.

We had to let a guy go because he kept saying to customers he did not know how to do things, and they were not impressed in the slightest, and as you know the customer is always right!

UK. As you know this forum is full of people who are not trained or authorised to install IP Office kit. We help some out and are shooting ourselves in the foot really. Just this post struck me as one of those...I apologise if that's not the case.

its hard isnt it because there is a huge difference between people who claim to be capable of installing, and people like it guys who have it dumped on them.

I agree, but this post started "I have a site" indicating this was not an IT bod who was told by his Boss to sort it out.

I was the one who installed the IPO and we wanted to configure the IPO as a small community but we were shot down. The problem that happened in this situation is that the "business Unit" was just bought by our company and the old powers didnt like the IPO that Corporate prefers. So they were local to the location and were able to get this done without anybody knowing what was going on..

Just one more tidbit to add. Since we bought this place of course we have to pay all the expenses that the new sites incur. Well when the invoice arrives on either my desk or my counterparts desk here for this new system that we didnt know about I am going to throw that back to the IT manager at that location and have him explain why we deviated from the corporate platform for these 2 sites and purchased a system that we didnt need.
