ANI displays an 'H'

I have an option 11 and a 61 connected with a PRI. When site A calls site B, or vice versa, there is an 'H' displayed before the number. Where is this defined, why is it there, and how can I change it? It doesn't appear to be anywhere in the CLID table.

i've seen this before, but don't remember where to turn it off. if it's not in the CLID, then check CDP entries in LD 87, although something tells me it's set up in LD 17.

i think the H stands for home, but i could be wrong. these are internal calls, right?

as i'm thinking about this, i don't know if i've ever seen a PRI between PBX's, most companies go w/a TIE line instead.

Calls are internal to the organization, yes. I couldn't see anything in the CDP tables referencing an H. There was something in the CLID tables about HLOC (home location), but I have no idea what that actually does. It's currently blank.

I was told by Nortel’s wonderful India tech support group that the H was not removable.

Next time you get Nortel India, ask to speak directly to Vishnu or Arjuna - they have ALL the answers.

My main reason for wanting this is that I want to set up a remote site to use the VM at the main location - it's not currently working, and I suspect that it doesn't like the H in front of the number. It could be that this is only displayed on the phones and not transmitted through caller ID, but I really don't know.

Yes, you're right - VM works fine.

However, the H still annoys me. . .

An H in the caller id lets the system know that this is a cdp call type. I don't think this can be turned off. Also it will not affect the voicemail functionality. This has been on every system with networked switches that I have ever put in.

Actually, there is a patch for this already, and the ability to turn it off is included in the Plug-In package in 5.00
