TWO PART QUESTION:
1. Are there certain programming steps that need to be taken on the Definity (G3si V8.1.xx) to allow ANI (Caller-ID) to be displayed on 6400 & 8400 display sets? We currently have a ISDN-PRI for local calls and flexpath for LD. We are having our local CO turn the Caller-ID feature up on the ISDN right now until we reprovision our LD trunk to ISDN-PRI. Does anything in the PBX need to be done to make this work? ie: "cha trunk grou X", "sys para multi-freq", etc..?
2. Can the PBX send that information (caller-id) to a CDR device in order to track "ALL" inbound calls. I know that that would be a great deal of data, but this is strongly suggested via the Government unfortunately...

Thanks for any and all input...

I can only answer part 2 of your question. CDR will track inbound calls. Whewn you say "ALL" inbound calls remember that many users block their caller ID. For 800 service you will get caller ID on all calls. Robert Harris

due to a power shut down i want to shut down my CMS Server.can anyone tell me the procedure to shut down the CMS Server and then restarting it?

The following command shuts down and restarts the CMS operating system.Login as root, the # prompt appears.
To shutdown/restart the CMS server, enter the following command at the # prompt.:
# /usr/sbin/shutdown -y -g0 -i6
Note: -y is the yes or no verification;-g0 is grace period, Zero seconds ;-i6 option shuts down and restarts the operating system. If you only want to shut down (not reboot) change the -i6 to -i0. Hope this helps.

Before this, however, ensure that you have stopped the wallboards and done an adm backup.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Part One
If you do a ch trunk xx look for the settings "Send Name" "Send Connected Number" "Send calling Number"
Also look at the page "ch isdn pub" this is were you would define your outgoing numbers. IF your DID number range is 513-123-4500/4599 you would put 4 as the len 45 as the ext. and 513123 as the prefix, total cpn len is 10. Hope this helps

go to the trunk group page and make sure the box is checked to display ani José

Please let me know if this was helpful
