Analog w/ Disconnect Supervision & Dialogic

Ok,

Here is what I am trying to do:

I have a 12 port Analog Dialogic card connected to a Nortel 11c Mini. I have LDTA set on the lines and I went into the Dialogic DCM program and set the Misc Setting for Disconnect Tone to Yes. The problem is when I go off hook and dial from the Dialogic Card, then hang up the called extension, I still don't see a disconnect on the port on the Dialogic side. When doing this testing with just a regular phone set I hear dial tone as soon as the called party hangs up.

Anyone have any ideas? I am going to cross post this in the Dialogic Exchange Network forums and will report any resolution to both boards! Thanks!

The NT8D09 does not have any disconnect supervision. Fax machines know when to hang up on each other because the communication tells the machine to do it. That's why they don't go into lockout.

The NT1R20AB _does_ have disconnect supervision. It is a different card. It is not a typical analog line card. You said that was what you had, but now I am thinking you might be wrong - you probably just have NT8D09 cards.

You would need two of them to support 12 ports, since the cards are only 8 ports each. That leaves only one other card slot in the system besides the main 48port digital card in the 11C Mini.

You can find out without visiting the system.

Go to LD32 and type IDC then the card number (first field of TN)... like

Looking at the card it says NT1R20AB but here is the LD 32 print out;

OK, you were right then. In that case, you are providing disconnect supervision. The next place to look is in the Dialogic card (or system) settings

Can I use a Multimeter and prove that I am getting disconnect? Seems the people here want proof one item is working correctly before working on the other item.

You might want to run a plain POTS line from the phone company into the system, and just keep your butt-sett on it to see if it disconnects.

I don't have any POTS lines coming in this building. I have a T1 going to the CS1000, but I am doing all these testing with an 11C Mini that is in the test lab.

Boss is now saying I can use a analog multimeter on the line and while the call is up I will see voltage on it but after hanging up I should see the voltage clear within 30 seconds. Sound right?

ARRGG - I am getting so frustrated with this stupid disconnect supervision.

If you have a 1000' foot roll of cable and there is a POTS line within a 1000' feet, that will be the only valid test, in my opinion.

The meter test won't prove anything if Dialigic isn't hanging up the line

It is a test lab - There are no POTS from downtown into it though. But, there is a Cisco Call Manger, Nortel 11C Mini, and a simulator SL-100, along with and ISDN line from a 5ESS.

I am doing some testing in LD 80 with tracing it and seeing what happens. I will post some soon . . .

It's possible you are on an older release - before ENTC was invented.

Another thought it the command does not apply to Mini systems...it might not.
