Currently have analog lines, total of 12 lines with different lines appearing on different sets. How would this be achieved with a PRI? Would I have to create a different hunt group for each line group and then basically no lines would appear on the actual set they would ring on intercom?

Im reading one now...

BCHANSEQ: DESEND OR ASSEND= use to opposite of TELCO

So i should use the opposite of what the telco spec sheet shows?

the PRI uses Target Lines (virtual lines), you build these and assign them to the sets just like normal lines. The only difference is they are used for inbound only, to make a call out of a PRI you use Rout & Desti Codes.

Where do the target lines start at on 7.1? 145 or in the 150s I have seen mixed answers here on the forums.

Also,

I have a 2 port fiber card. Will that work or do i need a 6 port?

Thanks!

Targets start at line 157. You will either need a Services cartridge or 6 port combo card to provide clocking. Plus you need a keycode to activate the PRI programming. The Targets roll to them self by adding appearences or thru the IC buttons .

so basically just leave the lines 1-23 alone in programming and focus on programming the target lines onto the appropriate sets? If the call pilot is busy is that what I would use the prime set setting for (to make sure it still rings at the appropriate set)? thanks

The DIDs (virtual numbers) are typically sold in blocks of 20 and are usually sequential except for the billing telephone number (BTN). I would advise that you make a spread sheet where you can have a paper trail of target line, DID telephone number and prime phone, because with a couple hundred target lines in the system, it can get confusing. You also need to coordinate with your telco to know your DID DN length that they are sending you...it has to match.

Also, as was said earlier, the 'lines' for the PRI are typically 1-23 and your target lines begin at 157. You do not assign the lines 1-23 to any phone, rather you could assign a target line to a phone to have a direct DID ringing to a particular phone. For access out the phones will need to have line pool PRI-A set as Y or they won't be able to access the route for the PRI. Make sure the BTN is assigned to a target line and that target line is assigned either to the AA or to the attendant.
