I just added a Polycom conference phone to an Opt 11C, using an analog (500) port. After a few days use, we noticed that the person we were calling doesn't hear us until 10-15 seconds elapse. We can hear them, but they can't hear us. Teh keep saying, "Hello .. hello ... hello" Sometimes the called person just hangs up on us!
At first I thought it was a Polycom problem, but I discovered the same thing happens with ANY analog phone (Walmart special) on ANY analog port in the switch. I tested this at some of my other sites with Opt 11C and 61C. They all work fine.
I made comparisons of TIMR settings among the sites. Four sites have ODT of 4096, the trouble site has ODT of 16128. Before I go monkeying with these settings, am I on the right track?
Is this a PBX issue or a LEC issue? Teh LEC is BellSouth. The site only has COT and DID.
Thanks.

Try dialing # after calling someone - if that make a difference you can set EOD and ODT to 4096. If not settings will not make a difference.

Do you have the same problem id you dial another station from the analog set?

Are you dialing out over the COT trunks?, do you get different results by dialing same number from a digital Set?
COT trunks, what is the setting for SUPN - try setting to no if Yes.

It's my experience that this is normal. You can't conference or transfer a call the first few seconds after the call is set up. On digital phones the transfer key/ conf key won't respond until this timer has expired. Since your probably using the SPRE code with an analog port you are getting this as a result. It's not anything you can change that I am aware of.

I have not had a chance to check any of the suggestions.
I forgot to mention that teh problem doesn't occur on a call from analog STATION to internal digital station, only outbound calls, out the COT.

To tipopen ... I did not say anything about transfer or conference. The problem is just with straight dialing to an outside number.

Thanks.

check the FLEN in the RLI and see what it is set to. Set to 11 and see if it connects quicker.

Try that # key that Reusser suggested. Bet that fixes you up. Then follow the rest of Reusser's instruction.
