Folks:

I just got (2) Cortelco Patriot II Signle-Line Telephone. I cannot make them ring on my Definity PBX. I can see the visual indicator telling me someone is calling. But I cannot hear it rings. I took it home and it worked fine at home. So there is nothing wrong with the phone.

The analog board is TN746B.

Any idea?

Yes, the ringer volumn is turned all the way up.

On page 2 of the station form try changing the Distinctive Ring field to 'n'.

I tried both ways and it still won't rung....Thanks!

Is your station type set as 2500?

It is configured as 2500.
It did ring when I connected it at home - POTS line.

I am glad I only bought one to try it out instead of 50.
Any help is appreciated.

KC

Try using a different type of analog board, TN742 or TN793.

Kevin

I don't have TN793 board. I don't think we want to invest meney on newer board for this old PBX. It is odd that some phones won't work in a PBX environment.

Should it be Part 68 in compliance! I even checked and make sure the T/R are correct. It should not matter on a digital ringer..

Any one has any suggesiton on a analog phone that give visual indication when it is ringing?

Good afternoon all...

I'm fairly new to the tek tips boards, but have been working on Avaya systems for about 8 years.

kcbell, check the Cortelco sets for a voltage switch somewhere on the phone. Having worked with Cortelco analog sets in the past, I know certain models had a voltage switch that had to be adjusted for ring/indicator settings. It used to be that you could remove the label panel, and the voltage switch was under the panel.

I will check next week..but why do they do that..

I'm not sure, maybe it was a compatibility feature from Cortelco? I know it affected the MWI, but I'm not 100% sure if affects the ring voltage or not. Worth a shot though...
