analog over ip - or analog converter

I have a large phone network, mixed IP and TDM, at the core are dual 8700s running CM5. Also have a large number of G350s at remote offices.

I also have a very small remote office, with 5 phones that are currently using a Merlin Legend. I want to remove the legend and save the cost of the maintenance payments. I have good IP bandwidth to the site so i thought about just dropping 5 IP phones in the site and pulling the legend.

The problem is they have 3 analog devices, 2 fax machines and a credit card machine. I don't want to put in a Gateway for this small of an office. I also don't want to pay for three outside phone lines for the three devices. Is there any kind of converter or adapter that will connect to my IP ethernet and let me attach an analog device and define it in my system as a 2500 type phone?

a G250 will do it, it is very inexpesive, will give you the ability to have up to 4 POTS lines and 2 Analog stations, also has an 8 port POE switch built in, which you could use to power your IP phones. yes, it is a media gateway, but a very inexpensive one. List price is $2200, you should be able to pick one up for about $1600 or so. This will take care of 2 of your 3 Analog stations.. you might have to get one POTS line.

The fax/credit card devices aren't running directly off of outside dial tone now? That's typical for such a small setup. And aren't you already paying for the dial tone into the Legend?

I would think you would still be saving money by eliminating the lines to the Legend and paying for two POTS lines (CC machine shares). I could be totally off base but does it make sense to put in a G250 and pay maintenance on that in order to save maintenance costs on a Legend you already own?

Besides, I would think you would need at least one line to the office in case you lost your WAN or you lost power.
