8300 with a G350. Analog lines ona MM711. It seems that the lines are not disconnecting. The line seems to stay active for quiet a while like the switch doesn't realize that the line is disconnected. Has anyone seen this or can you help point me in the right direction?

Thanks

maybe your carrier is not sending you a disconnect tone and your switch will never disconnect if that's the case.....is this happening to all your co's? is disconnect supervision turned on? i would also swap port on your analog card just to be safe...

avayaconsultant,

that's the common problem on analog loop-start trunks, where CO has no means of sending disconnect signal other than in acoustic form (busy tone). there are two ways of solving this problem: either using built-in 'busy tone disconnect' feature or using external devices commonly called 'line breakers'. anyway, the system (or line breaker) should permanently listen to a connected trunk to be able to detect busy signal and thus disconnect the line. be warned that using internal busy tone disconnect feature eats up tone detector ports and g350 has very few of them so i'd recommend to use external device if you have more than 4 co lines.
if you decide to use internal feature, it can be turned on on the 'ch sys cou' screen and then per trunk on the third page.
