hi,

Not usre what is wrong. I have an AD account that has two email address for two different domains (i.e. account@abc.com and account@xyz.com) and the abc account is set to primary. XYZ account works fine but ABC account can accept email from within the company but cannot accept email from outside (i.e. from Hotmail account). Please help. Thanks in advance!

Is the ABC domain in the default recipient list?

Thanks, Marcs41!

Yes it is. I noticed also that when I created this account that the email addresses for the abc.com is account2@abc.com(note "2"). Which signifies that "Account@abc.com" exist. But I still changed the email address on the e-mail addresses tab and gave me this error message "This email exist in this organization" and did not accept the change however when I changed the email address from General tab, it accepted it. What do you think? I am lost.

I just tested this and could simultate your situation, strange. I do however not have an answer for you at this point as why and how this can be, sorry.

Marcs41,

I found the duplicate email address is on one of our public folder (public folder proterties email addresses tab). When I dsquery search, it did not find it maybe because it was on a property tabs(not an object). So I deleted that and everything works fine.

Thank you for your effort to help me out.

There you go. If something like that is 'hidden' is a small corner, it is not always easy to track down, certainly not from this side ;-)
