May 31, 2001 #2 mbr MIS May 30, 2001 57 DE Hi, so it's up to you to tell the tape, that from now on it IS an amanda tape. amanda comes with a tool to do exactly that, named amlabel. the format of a valid label can be defined in your amanda.conf-file, a Code: man amlabel should help. the idea is to label all tapes according to your backup-scheme to prevent overwriting a tape if you some day will forget to change the tapes. ciao, mbr Upvote 0 Downvote
