In the DDS, you have to specify the COLOR keyword on the fields and/or constants.

The thing is, when creating any 5250 screen, you are very limited to your colour options. There are only six colours your can use because that's all the emulator will support (even though your monitor can support millions more).
BLU - blue
GRN - green
YLW - yellow
WHT - white
CYN - cyan (yes it actually is in there)
RED - red
BLU - blue
