Alternative to Proprietary PSU?

I am presently planning to build a machine beginning with a Coolermaster desktop case. After some research I have realised that the PSU in this model is proprietary and a smaller size than general. I am aiming to have this machine fairly high spec and believe that an aftermarket supply will yield a far better result. The dimensions are:
Proprietary PS2 350 W (155 x 120 x 85 [ D x W x H ] )
Has anyone knowledge of a high quality alternative, or even considered the same issue?
Any conversation gratefully accepted.........:)
Thanks
Steve

So measure the opening and see what you can get to take its place.

Or answer the age-old question; "Why did you buy this proprietary piece of junk?"

There may be some kind of replacement that is close to the correct size.

Or, break out the Dremel cutting tool.

If you do not like my post feel free to point out your opinion or my errors.

On the HPs and eMachines that I've run into with the problem a new case and power supply have fixed it. But sometimes it takes some other hardware to make it look good.

I appreciate both of your replies and opinions. The only reason I have stuck to this line of reason is that this Coolermaster Cavalier case presents to me as the perfect aesthetic beginning to a machine dedicated to audio applications. It has front mounted VU metering and in a few small words, looks good!
I will certainly look into mods but am fairly sure it will be tight. I thought someone may have done the same thing and possibly had located the perfect glove solution.
Well, I am an optimist.......:)
Thanks again
Steve
