Alternative Methods to Authenticate via VPN

OK.. everything is setup fine on the PIX, can VPN in no problem..

But therein lies the problem, when you log in to the VPN, we need to be able to authenticate people beyond that point for HIPAA purposes.

What solutions are there that would help in this ability? We're already talking about possibly doing a CA Server, as one comes with W2K Server.. anything else?

actually, certificate is the best way to authenticate with vpn. the only one issue that I know with pix on version 6.xx is that you can not use certificate provided by a subordonate certificate server.
at this time, if youve got a secure certificate environnement, it will be sure that you will be on trouble also.
make some pretty hard pre shared keys.
